About
Ghana Beauty Awards
The Ghana Beauty Awards formerly known as the Ghana Makeup Awards is Ghana’s first and only annual beauty awards event that rewards excellence in the Beauty Industry.
The Event rewards Practitioners, Wholesalers and Retailers of Beauty Products, Service Providers, Beauty Training Institutions, Pioneers, Advocates, Supporters and Partners of the Beauty Industry. The Ghana Beauty Awards started with the sole objective of championing excellence and continuously raising the performance bar by awarding stakeholders who have distinguished themselves. Over the years, the Awards has created a healthy competition amongst stakeholders, shaped conduct and service delivery and raised image and reputation of the Industry. The event rewards stakeholders in several areas of the beauty trade. As an Industry Award, the Awards Board together with the organizers agrees on the categories to award and subsequently announces and opens nominations for them to send in their works and profiles to the Board. These works and profiles are vigorous vetted and deserving applicants are shortlisted as Award nominees. The nominees are informed and officially announced to the public. There are three (3) stages involved in selecting winners from the nominees. Stage 1 is the “Judging Stage” which is executed by industry and category experts selected by the Board. The Judges review the profiles, works and live presentations of nominees and grades them. The judging process makes up 40% of the marks nominees require to win in each category. Stage 2 is the “Public Voting Stage”. This is where supporters of the nominees vote for them and this gives them up to 30% of the marks they require to win. Stage 3 is the “Interviewing/Vetting Stage”. This involves interviewing of nominees by the Awards Board and this constitutes the final 30% of marks needed by nominees. In all categories, only nominees who obtain the highest combined total score will emerge as winners.
